Speaking Engagement: Municipal Finance: Challenges of Current Markets and Structures

Robert H. Long, Jr., Partner and Senior Municipal Bond Attorney with Thomas Long and head of the firm's Public and Municipal Finance Practice Group, is the course planner for the upcoming Pennsylvania Bar Institute seminar entitled Municipal Finance: Challenges of Current Markets and Structures.
The seminar will explore the current challenges facing financing markets and structures, outline the applicable legal framework, and provide practical solutions. Topics to be addressed include: turmoil in the municipal bond markets; structuring and financing solutions; scarcity of AAA bond insurance; bank loans and structures; state bond banks and loan programs; increased municipal sewage treatment requirements; challenges in public school projects financing; structuring legal and practical solutions: finding funding sources; and complex transactions, swaps and other long-term financing plans.
The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the PBI Conference Center in Mechanicsburg, PA on Wednesday, January 14, 2009.
