Thomas Long Serves as Bond Counsel in $15 Million Financing
HARRISBURG, Pa. — April 30, 2009 — Thomas, Long, Niesen & Kennard is pleased to announce the firm’s recent closing, as bond counsel, for the Shippensburg Borough Authority’s (Cumberland and Franklin Counties) $15,000,000 water project financing. Proceeds from the issuance of the $15,000,000 Guaranteed Water Revenue Notes, Series of 2009, will be used to provide long-term and interim financing for improvements to the Authority’s water system, as well as to retire existing, outstanding debt of the Authority.
Robert H. Long, Jr., Senior Municipal Bond Attorney and leader of the firm’s Public and Municipal Finance Practice Group, and Charles E. Thomas, III led the Thomas Long team in preparing and concluding the transaction, which closed on March 30, 2009.
