Speaking Engagement: Municipal Finance—Current Highlights in Capital Financing

Robert H. Long, Jr., Partner and Senior Municipal Bond Attorney with Thomas Long and head of the firm's Public and Municipal Finance Practice Group, will be speaking at the upcoming 84th Annual Convention of the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Commissioners. 

The presentation will explore the current challenges facing financing markets and structures, outline the applicable legal framework, and provide practical solutions.  Topics to be addressed include:  current chaos in the municipal bond markets; structuring and financing solutions; scarcity of AAA bond insurance; bank loans and structures; state bond banks and loan programs; choice of issuing entity; organizing a financing team early; and an update on current Federal economic stimulus funding programs, including Build America Bonds.

The event will take place at 1 p.m. at the Eisenhower Inn and Conference Center in Gettysburg, PA on Monday, June 22, 2009.
